Torso Doll Storage: Hanging, Pillow Support or Original Foam?

Planning torso doll storage starts with two questions: how much space does your selected model need, and how will its body be supported? JigglyJoy recommends three torso storage arrangements: hanging with our optional M16 hook and covering the body with a large towel; lying on the back with a higher pillow under the waist and a lower pillow beneath the buttocks; or wrapping the torso in a large towel and returning it to its original fitted foam padding.
The right choice depends on your available space and the support you can provide. Our product pages list dimensions and weight, so begin with the exact model you are ordering. Then plan the complete storage arrangement, including its accessories and room to move the product in and out.
This guide explains our three methods and the measurements to check before choosing among them.
Start with the Product Dimensions and Your Available Space
Read the dimensions and weight on the product page rather than estimating size from photographs. If a measurement does not clearly state whether it includes the head, ask us to confirm what was measured.
A cabinet's outside dimensions do not tell you its usable storage space. Measure the interior and the opening separately. Hinges, shelves and a narrow door can reduce access even when the inside appears large enough.
For a hanging arrangement, consider the complete suspended setup: the hook, the body below it and clearance from surrounding surfaces. For lying storage, consider the body together with both pillows. Pillow support changes the height of the arrangement, so the body's dimensions alone are not the finished storage dimensions.
For original-foam storage, measure the complete packaging you will keep, not just the body. Allow room to open it and lift the torso in and out.
Check these points before deciding where to store your torso:
- The usable length, width and height of the storage area.
- The clear opening through which the body must pass.
- The space occupied by the hook, the two pillows or the original foam packaging.
- Access for supporting the body while placing it in storage or taking it out.
- The weight the supporting furniture or hanging structure is designed to carry.
For an explanation of product weight versus packaged shipping weight, see our torso doll weight guide. This article focuses on storage arrangements rather than repeating those weight comparisons.
Option 1: Hang the Torso and Cover It with a Large Towel
JigglyJoy torso dolls use an M16 threaded connection between the head and body. For this storage method, order our M16 hanging hook and follow the fitting instructions for your model.
After hanging the torso, wrap it in a large towel. The towel covers the body while it is stored, so it is less visible at a glance, and it gives the setup a neat, discreet appearance. The attached photo shows the torso hanging in its storage space and then covered with a towel.
The head connection and the hanging accessory have different jobs. An M16 thread identifies the connection; it is not, by itself, a load rating or approval for an unrelated hook. Use the JigglyJoy accessory intended for this storage method.
Before setting up, make sure the rail, stand or mounting point is suitable for the actual suspended load. Leave enough clearance so the towel-covered torso does not press against a door, wall or shelf. Support the body while attaching or removing it, and get assistance if its weight or access makes that difficult.
Use a clean, dry, colourfast towel and follow the product's cleaning and drying instructions before covering it. Arrange the towel loosely enough that it does not pull on the hook or compress the body's soft areas. If the hook instructions are unclear, check with us before suspending the body.

Option 2: Lying on the Back with Two Pillows
If hanging and towel covering are not your preferred arrangement, another method is to place the torso on its back with support at two different heights. JigglyJoy torso dolls have soft busts and soft buttocks, so our guidance is more specific than simply placing the body on a flat surface.
Use a higher pillow beneath the waist to support that area. Place a lower pillow beneath the buttocks to cushion the soft gel area. Both supports are part of the arrangement: the waist is supported, and the buttocks also have cushioning beneath them.
The reference to higher and lower pillows describes their relative support heights. It is not a fixed centimetre specification for every model. Pillows compress under weight, so their height before loading does not necessarily show how they will support the body once it is resting on them.
Choose a stable surface with enough room for the torso and both pillows. Check that the supports remain in place and that the arrangement does not leave the body resting against a hard edge. The bust should face upward, with no stored objects pressing down on it.
If you are uncertain whether your pillows provide the intended support, send us the model name and a photograph of the proposed arrangement. That is more useful than trying to match a pillow height used for a differently shaped torso.
Option 3: Reusing the Original Fitted Foam Padding
Keep the original fitted foam padding when you unpack your JigglyJoy torso. It can also be used for storage: wrap the torso in a large towel, then place it back into the foam padding supplied with that product.
Use a clean, dry, soft towel that will not transfer colour, and follow the product's cleaning and drying instructions before putting it away. The towel provides a layer between the body and the foam. Arrange it smoothly rather than leaving thick folds pressed against the soft areas.
Return the wrapped torso to the matching contours of its original padding. It should settle into place without being forced. If the towel makes the fit too tight, adjust the wrapping instead of pressing the body down or forcing the packaging closed.
Check that the foam remains clean, dry and intact. Damaged or crushed padding may no longer provide the original fit. Use the insert supplied for that torso rather than substituting packaging from a differently shaped model.
This method makes use of packaging you already have, but it requires space for the complete package and access to open it. During longer storage, check the towel, padding and body periodically rather than treating packed storage as something that needs no further attention.
Which Storage Method Fits Your Home?
Choose hanging with a towel cover when you can provide a suitable supporting structure, sufficient clearance and manageable access to attach and remove the body. Include the JigglyJoy M16 hook in your order so the accessory is part of your plan from the beginning.
Choose pillow-supported lying storage when you have a suitable horizontal surface and room for the complete arrangement. Remember that the higher waist pillow and lower buttock pillow are part of the space requirement.
Choose original-foam storage when you have kept the matching padding and have room for the complete package. This also uses a towel wrap, then returns the torso to its fitted foam insert.
Your choice should not depend only on hiding the product from view. A space that is difficult to reach or too tight to remove the body comfortably is worth reconsidering, even if the measurements suggest that it can fit.
Before any of these methods, follow your model's cleaning and drying instructions. Use coverings and contact materials suitable for the product, and check the stored arrangement periodically for changes in support or unwanted pressure. A correctly fitted storage setup still needs attention over time.
A Storage Checklist to Complete Before Ordering
Once you have shortlisted a model, record the following information:
- Model name and selected head configuration.
- Listed dimensions and weight, with any unclear measurement scope confirmed.
- Intended storage method: M16 hanging with towel cover, two-pillow support or towel-wrapped original foam.
- Usable storage dimensions and access opening.
- The supporting structure for hanging, the surface and pillows for lying storage, or space for the original foam packaging.
- Any questions about fitting the hook, supporting the body or moving it into place.
You can send those details to us before ordering. For hanging storage, explicitly request the M16 hook. For lying storage, describe the support you plan to use beneath the waist and buttocks. For original-foam storage, keep the matching insert and prepare a suitable large towel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the M16 hanging hook included automatically?
Plan to select it with your order if you want hanging storage. Do not assume that the standard head-to-body connection means a hanging hook is included.
Can I use any hook with an M16 thread?
Our storage recommendation is for the JigglyJoy M16 hanging hook. A matching thread alone does not establish that another accessory or mounting arrangement is suitable for suspension.
Why are two pillows used for lying storage?
They have different roles in our recommended arrangement: the higher pillow supports the waist, while the lower pillow cushions the soft buttock area. A single pillow should not be assumed to provide both supports.
Can I store the torso hanging under a towel?
Yes. Order the JigglyJoy M16 hook, hang the torso according to its instructions, then cover it with a clean, dry, colourfast large towel. Leave the towel loose enough that it does not pull on the hook or press the soft areas. This keeps the torso less visible in its storage space.
Choose the Model and Plan Its Storage Together
Start with the dimensions and weight in our torso doll collection, then choose the storage method that you can set up and access properly.
If space is a concern, share your measurements with us before placing the order. We can discuss the selected model, hanging with a towel cover, the two-pillow arrangement and reuse of the original foam padding so your storage plan is ready when the product arrives.
